The Magical Land of Lemuria

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

Lemuria, the lost continent that was located in the Pacific Ocean with a population of 64 million people

In 1998, Dr. Bruce Goldberg discovered that Kemet (ancient Egypt) was a colony of two lost civilizations prior to 3,000 BC. Lower Egypt in the Delta region was a seaport colony of Atlantis leading out of the Nile River into the Mediterranean Sea, and Upper Egypt was a colony of Lemuria (Mu), which was in the Pacific Ocean. Lemuria encompassed the present-day Hawaiian Islands, Fiji, Easter Island, the Marinas, and other South Pacific islands. At its apex, the pre-ancient continent of Lemuria held a population of 64 million residents. This lost continent stretched through most of what is now the Pacific Rim, its terrestrial remains.

According to Dr. Rufus O. Jimerson, author of Back Ancestral Atlantis: An Advanced Civilization Lost to Eurocentrism, Lemuria was deemed as the true “Garden of Eden” that produced the first homo sapiens, who were Black people with short and kinky hair. The Dogons (African ethnic group or tribe) of early Egypt, the Zulus, and most of the tribes of Africa below the Sahara claim they originated from Lemuria. The original people of African descendants were the founders of the early civilizations in Africa like ancient Egypt, Asia, Asia Minor, including Sumer, the Pacific Islands and America. Lemuria, the motherland connected these regions, and the original people who founded these civilizations prior to the end of the last Ice Age were people of the Africoid race.

“The people that inhabited Mu (Lemuria) like all of South and Central Asia, Oceania, and Pacific Rim were like the native Hawaiians and New Zealanders racially. They had Africoid features, dark skin and wooly hair. Therefore, the people of Africoid descent living in Asia and Oceania during prehistoric times probably exceed the number that now lives in Africa. The purest Negro types that have not bred with Indo-Aryans are in Southern Asia.” – Dr. Rufus O. Jimerson

Lemuria or Mu was named after lemurs, small mammals that appear similar in appearance to squirrels and monkeys. These primates were abundant in Africa, India, and Malay Archipelago. The Lemurians referred to their home continent as the “Empire of the Sun.” Five races originated from Lemuria, also known as the “Garden of Eden.” The religion of the Lemurians was monotheistic with strong emphasis on reincarnation. The human species was genetically created on this continent 200,000 years ago from a genetic mixture of time travelers and several types of ETs (Extra Terrestrials). Lemuria existed at the dawn of human evolution, and the Lemurians were one of the first groups to be embodied in the evolved physical form, coming to earth as homo sapiens were emerging as a species. The Lemurians, and others who arrived elsewhere on planet earth, knew the earth was to be a testing ground, a laboratory of the universe. The appearance of the Lemurians was uniquely human, walking upright, with an opposing thumb and fingers. They also possessed intelligence, creativity, and abilities fully recognizable to people living in the 21st century.

The Lemurians made certain decisions very early in their civilization. They immediately experienced many difficulties while living in their “earthly bodies” and were determined to retain control by coupling with the spiritual world. They could access the spiritual world at will and was the blueprint for the civilization of Lemuria. The spirit realm, where all souls come from, returned to, and relate to as home base, operates in total harmony, mutual support, unconditional love, cooperation, peace, joy, and wisdom. The spirit world was used as a point of reference for the Lemurians. Souls in the spirit world instinctively knew who they were and what they needed to learn to grow and evolve. This was why the Lemurians decided to remain fully attached to and conscious of their spiritual selves.

The Lemurians called their spirit bodies “light bodies,” since they consisted mostly of light, vibration, and energy. In Lemuria, everyone was a teacher for the young, according to their talents and professions, their best and most loved profession. Even prior to birth, souls had their own gifts, talents, and personalities. Everyone’s essence was apparent, and the Lemurians knew their gifts came from the Creator Source (God). Power came from knowing and living their true essence. Since there was no separation between the Lemurian’s light bodies, there was no separation of thoughts, feelings, desires, emotions, or goals. The Lemurians possessed what was called “telepathy.” With such a close and complete connection with each other, the Lemurians had no reason for lying. There were no secrets. Since the Lemurians experienced no separation from the Creator, they were blessed with the ability to read the cosmos. They naturally possessed psychic abilities like precognition, clairvoyance, clairaudience, and clairsentience. Every person of Lemuria instituted Universal Wisdom and Universal Law and acted accordingly.

There was a belief that Lemuria colonized and developed the great ancient civilizations of Egypt, India, Babylonia, and Maya. There were also numerous colonies stretching from Africa to Atlantis in the Americas of this lost continent and the first earthly civilization. Lemuria’s skilled architects and masons built great palaces and temples across the globe, and this tradition still lives on today among members of the Masonic Lodges. The Lemurians devoted much of their life to spiritual growth, and their belief system prioritized respect for a higher power and love for each other and planet earth. Inner wisdom was prioritized over technology. Knowledge was used to serve humanity rather than self-glorification. The spirituality of Lemuria emphasized a connection with the Higher Self (an extension of the God energy within and around us).

Lemuria: The True “Garden of Eden”

Lemuria (Mu), the “Motherland of Man”

Lemuria was a vast stretch of rolling country, extending from north of present-day Hawaii down towards the south. A line between Easter Island and Fiji Island formed its southern boundary. The lost continent was over 5,000 miles from east to west, over 3,000 from north to south, and was in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Lemuria consisted of three areas of land, divided from each other by narrow channels of seas. According to James Churchward, author of The Lost Continent of Mu, basing on his description on the records shown in chapters four and five of his book (The Lost Continent of Mu), back, far back, into very remote times, many thousands of years ago, yet on the edge of what we call historical times, there was a great continent in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where now “we find only water and the sky,” and groups of small islands, which today are called the South Sea Islands.

The land of Lemuria was “beautiful” and tropical with “vast plains.” The valleys and plains were covered with rich-grazing grasses and tilled fields, while the “low rolling hill-lands” were shaded by luxuriant growth of tropical vegetation. No mountains or mountain ranges stretched themselves through this earthy paradise, for mountains had not yet been forced up from the bowels of the earth. This great rich land was intersected and watered by many broad, slow running streams and rivers, which wound their sinuous ways in fantastic curves and bends around the wooded hills and through fertile plains. Luxuriant vegetation covered the whole land with a soft, leasing, restful mantle of green. Bright and fragrant flowers on tree and shrub added coloring and finish to the beautiful landscape of Lemuria.

Tall fronded palms fringed the ocean’s shores and lined the banks of the rivers for many miles inland. Great feathery ferns spread their long arms out from the riverbanks. In valley places where land was low, the rivers broadened out into shallow lakes, around whose shore’s myriads of scared “lotus flowers” dotted the glistening surface of the water, like varicolored jewels in settings of emerald green. Over the cool rivers, butterflies hovered in the shade of the trees, as if better to view their painted beauty in nature’s mirror. Hummingbirds darted from flower to flower, making their short flights, glistening like living jewels in the rays of the sun. Roaming through the primeval forests were herds of “mighty mastodons and elephants” flopping their big ears to drive off annoying insects.

Lemuria was a continent full of abundance with 64 million happy human beings who reigned supreme during the pre-ancient world. The 64 million people were made up of 10 tribes, each distinct from the other, but under one government. Many generations before, the people had selected a king and added the prefix Ra to his name. He then became the hieratical head and emperor under the name “Ra Mu." The empire received the name “Empire of the Sun.” All the people followed the same religion, a worship of the Deity through symbols. They all believed in the immortality of the soul, which the soul eventually returned to the “great source” from where it originally came from. So great was their reverence for the Deity that the Lemurians never spoke His name, and in prayer they addressed him through a symbol. “Ra the Sun” was used as a collective symbol for all His attributes. As the high priest, Ra Mu was the representative of the Deity in religious teachings. It was taught and understood amongst the Lemurians that Ra Mu was not to be worshipped, as he was only the representative of the Deity.

During pre-ancient times on planet earth, the Lemurians were highly civilized and enlightened people. For example, there was no savagery on the face of the earth, nor had there ever been, since all people on earth were children of Mu and lived under the suzerainty (i.e., rule) of the motherland of Lemuria. The early Lemurians also experienced no crime, no disease, no pollution, and no threats to their lifestyles. Lemuria was an enchanted land where everyone was wealthy in spirit and beauty, and all things that truly mattered were of the Light. Food was plentiful and available to everyone, and all the Lemurians’ needs were cared for. Their bodies were regenerated in Golden Light Temples of Healing and health flourished. People lived together in harmony and happiness and expressed blissful peace. Everybody in Lemuria was family and children were looked on as gifts. The people played and sang together as a matter of course in everyday life. Communication between the Lemurians was Truthful, Loving and Respectful. When the Lemurians looked into each other’s eyes, they saw True Essence reflected. Animals like dolphins and plants, crystals and stars, and the sea were also family to the Lemurians, and they closely communicated with them all.

The pre-ancient inhabitants of Lemuria were great navigators and sailors who took their ships around the world “from the eastern to the western oceans and from the northern to the southern seas… They were also learned architects, building great temples and palaces of stone.” They carved and set up great monoliths as monuments. In the land of Lemuria there flourished seven great or principal cities, the seats of religion, science, and learning. There were also many other large cities, towns, and villages scattered throughout the continent. Many of the cities were built at or near the mouths of the great rivers, and these were the seats of trade and commerce, where ships passed to and from all parts of the world. Lemuria was the mother and center of the earth’s civilization. Learning, trade, and commerce, and all other countries throughout the world were her colonies or colonial empires.

At its height, about 100,000 BC, Lemuria began colonizing other fertile and temperate lands around the world. From the beginning to its heights, the creation of the Lemurians, an advanced and evolved form of the Homo erectus, was a successful experiment in human growth. The lives of Lemurians were extended by their spiritual beliefs that fostered love for humanity, all creatures big and small and the planet. Psychic empowerment and healing were the foundation of their spirituality. The emphasis was on the development of inner wisdom in contrast to information and technology for profit and self-glorification. The focus of the Lemurian’s spirituality was upon a greater appreciation and respect for a connection with the higher self.

The reason why the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Sumer, India, China, Aztec, Incas, Mayas, Olmec, and Atlantis, among others were amazingly similar is because of the parent civilization of Lemuria. Even Manetho, the Egyptian historian testified to this effect by dating Egyptian dynasties to at least 24,927 years ago when Lemuria flourished.

Atlantis & The Destruction of Lemuria (Mu)

Lemuria (Mu) and Atlantis before they sunk in their respective oceans during the pre-ancient world

It has been raised that Atlantis was an African civilization, and the Atlanteans may have been Black or dark-skinned, like the descendants of Africans below the Sahara. Atlantis was located upon the warm waters of the Gulf Stream and stretched from the Caribbean Islands to the Bimini Islands. Around 100,000 years ago, the Lemurians established the Atlantis colony. By 16,000 BC, the Atlanteans broke away from their Lemurian colonizers to establish a colony in the Delta region of the Nile Valley (East Africa). Lemuria settled Upper Egypt near the interior of Africa. By 3,000 BC, Upper Egypt invaded Lower Egypt and began the First Dynasty.

The Atlanteans and Lemurians mastered atomic power and built power plants to produce electricity. It is believed by some scholars that producing electricity and generating its power was the function of the pyramid. Atlanteans relied on the Great Crystal to tap into energy beneath its’ continent which they converted into electrical and nuclear energy. Medically, surgeons performed plastic surgery. Other healers used electro-therapy to heal the physical body by making an injured body organ part of an electrical circuit and conduit of electricity. It was around 125,000 BC when the Lemurians divided into two groups, the Essenes and Atlantes. The Essenes were devoted to spiritual growth and achieving ascension. The Atlantes were materialistic and warlike. The Atlanteans claimed the Atlantis colony as their refuge. The Essenes outnumbered the Atlanteans in Lemuria and the Lemurians were sent to Atlantis to help keep the peace. Atlantis achieved independence from Lemuria around 75,000 BC and viewed Lemuria as a threat to their self-determination and hegemony. By 16,000 BC, the Atlanteans launched destructive attacks and raids against Lemuria.

Once Atlantis achieved their own independence, they accelerated their degeneration into materialism, aggression, war, and hegemony. It was here where the Atlanteans mastered atomic power and built power plants to produce electricity. Light bulbs have been dug-up in its Egyptian colony. Radio and television supposedly existed in Atlantis. The Great Crystal tapped into the gas belts and other sources of energy beneath the Atlantis continent to produce electrical nuclear energy.

Other Atlantean technological advancements included:

  • Printing Press

  • Telepathy Machines to read and alter thoughts

  • Guns using electricity to exterminate opponents

  • Electrical lamps used in construction of Egyptian pyramids

  • Monorail transportation network

  • Air Conditioners

  • Air to Water Condenser

Lemuria fell victim to three cataclysms of nature, along with attacks by the Atlanteans which led to Lemuria’s final destruction. For instance, the rumblings from the bowels of the earth, followed by earthquakes and volcanic outbursts shook up the southern parts of Lemuria. The southerly shores great cataclysmic waves from the ocean rolled in over the land, and many cities went down in the destruction. The volcanoes belched out fire, smoke, and lava. Since Lemuria was flat, the lava did not run, but piled up, forming cones which subsequently became igneous rocks, and are seen today on some of the southern islands. After the cessation of the volcanoes, the people of Lemuria gradually overcame their fright. Ruined cities were rebuilt, and trade and commerce resumed. Many generations after the volcanoes, the land of Lemuria became the victim of more earthquakes.

“The whole continent heaved and rolled like the ocean’s waves. The Land trembled and shook like the leaves of a tree in a storm. Temples and palaces came crashing to the ground and monuments and statues were overturned. The cities were heaps of ruins.”

As the land of Lemuria rose and fell, quivered, and shook, the fires from underneath burst skyward, piercing the clouds in roaring flames three miles in diameter. There they were met by lightning shafts which filled the heavens. A thick black pall of smoke overshadowed the land.

“Huge cataclysmic waves rolled in over the shores and extended themselves over the plains.”

Cities and all things living went down during the destruction of Lemuria.

“Agonizing cries of the multitude filled the air. The people sought refuge in their temples and citadels only to be driven out by the fire and smoke, and the women and the men in their shining garments and precious stones cried: ‘Mu save us!”

As the setting sun showed itself on the horizon beneath the pall of smoke that hovered over the whole land of Lemuria, it was like a ball of fire, red and angry. When the continent sunk below the horizon, intense darkness prevailed, relieved only by lighting strikes. As Lemuria fell into the great abyss of fire, “flames shot up around and enveloped her.” The fires claimed their victim, “Mu (Lemuria) and her 64,000,000 people were sacrificed.”

As Lemuria sunk into the fiery gulf, another force claimed 50 million square miles of water. From all sides the huge waves came rolling in. The Lemurians met where once was the center of the land. Lemuria, the Motherland of Man, with her proud cities, temples and palaces, her arts, sciences, and learning, was now a dream of the past. The blanket of water was the lost continent’s burial. The catastrophe of Lemuria was the first step in the destruction of the earth’s first great civilization. For nearly 13,000 years, Lemuria’s destruction cast a heavy pall over the greater part of the earth. When the pall was being lifted, many spots still lie covered. When Lemuria submerged, for geological reasons, that will later be explained, ridges and points of land remained above water, and they made islands and groups of islands, but were jagged and broken up by volcanic workings which had occurred beneath them. Among Lemuria’s land bodies that did not completely submerge was Easter Island whereby gigantic Negroid busts were erected when the lost continent was afloat.

According to Dr. Jimerson, there are legends that the Lemurians were short in stature like Amphibious Sirens and African Pygmies. These “dark dwarfs” were recognized as Lemurian inhabitants from Ireland to Japan. The original “leprechauns” were, in fact, Pygmies. The ancient Egyptians recognized these people as the “Twa people,” because they were small brown men who first inhabited planet earth. Even Pygmy bones have been found all over the world. Therefore, at one time in history, the Pygmies were the first species of humanity. Some of these people of the Black-African race migrated to Africa but still claimed Asia and Oceania as their ancestral home.

On the authority of Dr. Goldberg, he states the Lemurians participated in a successful experiment in human spiritual growth that lasted for about 100,000 years. Residents and colonists adhered to a basic belief in a higher power, respect, and love for each other and planet earth. The Lemurians used psychic empowerment to strengthen their spirituality. Inner wisdom was held supreme next to its connection to the cosmic consciousness. Information or technology had a lower priority. According to the patients of Dr. Goldberg, about 100,000 years ago changes occurred in the people of Lemuria where dissension or spiritual degeneration began to overtake ascension. Rivalry, conflict, and commercialism lead to spiritual degeneration. The Lemurians and allies of ETs used nuclear energy, high-voltage electronics, and lasers. Following spiritual degeneration, they used nuclear weapons, and lasers against one another. The most devastating means of destruction came from three cataclysms of earthquakes. The final series of massive earthquakes submerged the entire continent of Lemuria and most of its 64 million population in 11,000 BCE.

The Aftermath of Lemuria & The Atlantis Takeover

Lemuria’s complete demise shocked the remaining pre-ancient world because nobody expected the entire Lemurian continent to be submerged almost overnight leaving only mountaintops as evidence of its existence. Even the Atlanteans were stunned at the loss because they considered Lemuria to be the mother of civilization. The rest of the pre-ancient world felt extreme distress because their prevalent belief was that only the Lemurians could keep Atlantean ambition and aggression in check. When Lemuria vanished and disappeared, people’s worst fear came true as Atlantis established itself as the unquestionable leader of the world. According to Journalist Ruth Montgomery, author of The World to Come, the Atlanteans were not as loved as the Lemurians because they were blatantly arrogant with their warlike tendencies. The Atlanteans put their own greed, self-aggrandizement, lust for power and hegemony over the common good, particularly toward “the least of us." The Atlantean's patriotism was indeed narcissism.

In fact, the priests and priestesses of Lemuria warned the inhabitants of their motherland several hundred years in advance that a catastrophe was approaching. The people were not obliged to leave Lemuria to escape imminent destruction. They had plenty of time to migrate to other lands or stay and die with their homeland. During this time in history, some Lemurians chose not to leave their motherland because the land’s vibration supported them; therefore, migrating to other lands was an important decision and not to be taken lightly. Those Lemurians who left did so mainly to establish their lifestyle and wisdom in new territories so that their sacred knowledge would not be lost to future generations. Due to the advanced warnings, the Lemurian colonists had plenty of time to establish themselves in other lands. They also maintained constant contact with those who remained behind in Lemuria through telepathy and visits where transport to and from Lemuria took place by boat. Prior to the cataclysms, the seers and wise men of Lemuria passed their records to the Druids in England, Atlantis, natives of the Pacific, Native Americans, Aborigines in Australia, Indian priests, and the Egyptian high priest.

The Lemurian survivors passed on their advanced skills in architecture and masonry that they used to build great stone palaces, temples, and other monoliths found in early African, Asian, Asia Minor, Pacific, and American civilizations.

The Atlanteans maintained their materialistic and arrogant ways wherever they went during the transition from the pre-ancient to the ancient world. They were continually threatened by the native populations worldwide, so the Atlanteans used religion to control the masses. It included secret rites that were designed to train the initiates to foster higher living standards and access to a blessed afterlife. On earth, the Atlantean’s hubris was founded on the belief that Poseidon, the Greek God who commanded the seas was their unique protector. Ancient Greek Philosopher Plato suggested that the Atlanteans’ downfall was led by letting Poseidon down or abusing his domain. They supposedly abused the seas to hydrate their advanced technology, particularly nuclear and electrical power. Wastewater drawn and dumped in the ocean would kill untold numbers of animal life at sea.

The Lemurian survivors passed on their advanced skills in architecture and masonry that they used to build great stone palaces, temples, and other monoliths found in early African, Asian, Asia Minor, Pacific, and American civilizations. Also, the Lemurian sailors mapped every continent on earth with extraordinary accuracy. This knowledge of civilization was passed on to the ancient Egyptians, Phoenicians, Libyans, Chinese, Japanese, and early Africans, among other people living in coastal regions to foster trade, commerce, and exploration.

Around 11,000 BC, Atlantis met the same fate as Lemuria, and was submerged into the ocean as their energy gas chambers blew up. Survivors of Atlantis fled to ancient Egypt and other colonies established by the Lemurians. It was the Atlanteans’ technology alongside that of the Lemurians which helped to build megalithic structures like the Great Sphinx and Great Pyramids of Giza in ancient Egypt. Some of the survivors of Atlantis became Phoenicians, Carthaginians, and other seafarers and explorers of antiquity.

Approximately 38,000 years after the loss of Lemuria, Atlantis suffered its own destruction when their land disappeared beneath the Atlantic Ocean. Without the Great Crystal and Atlantean technology, travel returned to a primitive state. For example, there were no more airships and submarine boats navigated by the Great Crystal to transport people from one continent to another. Furthermore, people couldn’t even sail across the Atlantic Ocean for thousands of years after the sinking of Atlantis because the floating debris made it dangerous to maneuver ships through the mud only to dodge the large pieces of flotsam. The Montgomery guides affirmed that historical records described that for thousands of years, the Atlantic Ocean was a shallow and mud-covered sea that the ancient ones considered too risky to traverse. Even Plato labeled the Atlantic as an impassable barrier as late as 360 BC.

With the loss of high-tech methods of transportation, many groups of people completely stopped traveling from one continent to another. Lacking the ability to easily journey from one place to another brought a serious halt to the exchange, not only to goods but also of ideas, philosophy, and learning among people. Humans during this time in history became stagnant and isolated, except for the centers of learning like ancient Egypt, India, and Peru. Montgomery’s guides also claimed that people ultimately became depressed, superstitious, and forgot what their purpose on earth was. Lacking the free flow of materials, foods, and ideas, humans throughout the transition from the pre-ancient to the ancient world began to deteriorate to a primitive state of being. Since there was so much work just to survive, there was little time, if any, left for people to exercise the mind. The loss of two great pre-ancient civilizations like Lemuria and Atlantis brought in a sad age for the survivors in the rest of the ancient world, one comparable to the harsh and unforgiving Dark Ages of medieval Europe.

“The Lemurian civilization existed so long ago why would it be relevant to learn about it today? It is relevant because the Lemurians had been a highly spiritual society, exhibiting cooperation, compassion, joyfulness, and unconditional love to each other. This is the consciousness level the modern world is slowly returning to. This is the Ascension everyone had been speculating about and waiting for. It is a change in thinking. It’s an elevation of the mind and emotions, not the body. It is the Lemurian energy at its highest vibration returning to planet earth for the first time since the continent (Lemuria) disappeared under the Pacific Ocean over 52,000 years ago.” – Una Marcotte, author of Lemuria: A Civilization Time Forgot
